This site has been developed in collaboration with survivors with lived experience and representatives from The Survivors Trust member organisations, who provide specialist support to all survivors of rape, sexual assault, and sexual abuse.

Each of our website sections explores a specific area associated with the effects that survivors of rape and/or sexual abuse can often experience in the aftermath of sexual trauma, and provides resources for survivors and anyone who wants to learn more about the impact of sexual violence, or wants to use as a self-help toolkit as part of their recovery journey.

These sections introduce the subjects they cover, share experiences and advice from survivors with lived experience, outline some common challenges and concerns that survivors may have in these areas, and provide tips, exercises, and links to external resources which survivors may find useful to explore further. The topics included on this site are:

To help you find the information you need, we have also put together a Resources Database that you can use to search for specific resources to meet your needs.

While supporters of survivors, such as family members, partners, and professionals who work with them, may find other areas of the site useful, we have also put together a specific section exploring resources for supporters.
