Training Our Accredited ISVA Training ISVA Service Manager Training The Survivors Trust Independent Sexual Violence Adviser (ISVA) Service Manager Training Programme has been developed by leading professionals within the field of service provision for victims-survivors of sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse. It has been developed with advice and input from the ISVA Leads for Rape Crisis England and Wales and a range of specialist sexual violence support services. The ISVA Service Manager Programme has been specifically designed to equip participants to meet the requirements, demands and challenges of managing an effective ISVA service working with victims and survivors of all forms of sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse. Students will gain clear knowledge and understanding of the operational and legal requirements necessary for establishing a robust ISVA service and supporting ISVAs in their front-line roles. 2024 Course Dates (Online) Session 1 Establishing an ISVA Service – Individuals, Agencies and Partnerships 15th July 2024 Session 2 Operational and Legal Requirements for Delivering ISVA Services 16th September 2024 Course Format The ISVA Service Manager Training Programme is delivered over two linked one-day training events offering 12 hours of direct learning and 20 hours of self-directed coursework and home assignments. Students will have access to on-going support from the TST Training Team throughout this training experience with one to one tutorials, email and telephone support. The training course has been designed to allow students to focus on their studies over the two days of training away from work commitments and the day-to-day responsibilities of their Service Manager role. Students benefit from a range of learning opportunities, including use of case studies, role play, group discussions, observation, reflective logs, individual and group mentoring, written and practical assessments. Over the duration of the training course, students will build up a portfolio which includes worksheets, reports, practice and work-based evidence which is used to assess evidence of learning outcomes achieved. Qualification Gained Successful participants will gain an accredited course certificate at Level 3 with AIM Qualifications and referenced to National Occupational Standards. The training programme covers the following elements: Understanding rape, sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse with reference to human rights and gender-based violence; Operational and legal requirements for delivering ISVA services; The roles and responsibilities of ISVAs; Legal and procedural issues relating to sexual crimes; Risk and needs assessments; Multi-agency and partnership working. Places are limited to a maximum of 15 students per course. If the course is oversubscribed, priority will be given to applicants from The Survivors Trust and Rape Crisis England and Wales (RCEW) member organisations who are currently working as ISVA Service Managers. The Survivors Trust reserves the right to allocate places. Training Venue Our face-to-face training takes place at our office in Rugby, Warwickshire, is situated within walking distance of Rugby Train Station and the town centre. On-site parking is available. Please note: Training is currently being delivered online via Zoom. Course Fees Course fees include registration fees, accreditation and course materials (including handouts and further reading). VAT is not chargeable.
